Hi everyone,
Here is the latest post from my collaborative project related to oppression from the talented Alex! Here is a bit about him:
“Alex Andy Phuong (He/Him/His) earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from California State University—Los Angeles. Emma Stone inspired Alex to write passionately after watching her Oscar-winning performance in La La Land. He now writes hoping to inspire the ones who dream.”
This is what he has to say about creation:
“I firmly believe in the power of hope, love, and creativity. This process impacts me daily because I strive to make the world better everyday and day by day.”
I really resonate with the poem. Thank you so much Alex for sharing your work with all of us. I truly believe that looking within ourselves is how we will learn to accept who we are in this lifetime; to be ok with ourselves and to love and accept what makes us unique yet so similar. This is an important first step is dismantling behaviors that continue to hurt ourselves and consequently others.
What comes up for you when reading this poem? I would love to know! Feel free to comment or message me:). Still accepting submissions this week for those wanting to participate in this project. You can email them to me at: ishvaraconnections@gmail.com Here is Alex’s poem:
Accepting Life on Earth upon the Earth
“On Earth itself
Unearth involves
More than digging dirt
For looking deep within
The heart and soul
Can make a person whole
If that person
Decides
To surrender
To reality
And accept life
For what it is
And to simply live
Unapologetically
Upon the Earth”
